Heavy rains affect major parts of Ndorwa East.

The heavy rains that have taken on the whole country have not left most parts of Kigezi the same. With major parts of Ndorwa East mostly hit by the heavy rains. A number of Roads have been blocked while bridges have been washed away. Kaharo is one of those places where roads have been cut off. This is on the Ntungamo Kabale high way and the road has been temporarily closed by UNRA. Maziba Primary School has been affevted with the main classroom block brought down including the Head teacher's office. Bridges especially in Kigarama, and other places have also been washed away and roads cut off from others, disconnecting villages. Thisbis in addition to many homes that have also been washed away. The rains are expected to go on until mid May, atleast according to the Disaster Preparedness and Response team from the OPM. Local leaders have reached out to Government through the Office of the Prime Minsiter but no response has been registered yet. It remains unclear whether the local people will get helped out of this disaster.
